Midnight Souvenirs (Verve/UMe), Peter Wolf’s seventh solo album is a
continuation of the singer-songwriter’s distinctive and eclectic tales that
brighten and interpret a world gone noir. Following in the tracks of Wolf’s
Sleepless, which was honored by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the “500
greatest albums of all-time,” the new collection gives hope to the love-wounded
and promises “there’s still time for the midnight wine,” even if “sometimes you
heal, sometimes you’re scarred.” Featuring duets with country legend and
national treasure Merle Haggard, the soulfully transcending dynamic award winner
Shelby Lynne, and the haunting and majestic voice of Neko Case, “Midnight
Souvenirs” integrates and embraces rock, R & B, blues, folk and country in a way
that has distinguished Wolf’s storied career. Measurable are his decades as the
leader and frenzied focal figure of the J. Geils Band, with whom he showcased
his talents on such hits as “Centerfold,” “Freeze Frame,” “Love Stinks” and
Musta Got Lost.” “Midnight Souvenirs” was packed fair and square in the studio
by Wolf and Kenny White, who also co-produced “Sleepless” and 1998’s “Fools
Parade,” celebrated as one of the “50 most influential albums of the ’90s” by
Rolling Stone Magazine. Much like the material on those two discs, the majority
of the new songs were co-written with Oscar winner Will Jennings (Eric Clapton’s
Tears From Heaven,” Steve Winwood’s “Higher Love,” and Joe Cocker and Jennifer
Warens duet “Up Where We Belong”). Also contributing to the album were
songwriters Angelo Petraglia and Taylor Rhodes, whose songs have been recorded
by Kings of Leon and Aerosmith

The 14 songs on the album range from the country blues of “Tragedy”–with Shelby
Lynne–and the hard-rockin’ “The Night Comes Down” (dedicated to the late Willy
DeVille) to the bittersweet texture of “It’s Too Late For Me” with Merle
Haggard, and the punchline impact of vintage Philly roots R & B on “Overnight
Lows.” Wolf and Neko Case deliver an eternal bouquet on “The Green Fields of
Summer

I never obsess about the commercial aspect of my music, just like with my
artwork,” says Wolf, also an accomplished painter whose art world connections
have included Norman Rockwell, Mark Rothko, Andy Warhol and Director David
Lynch. “What matters is if the painting is interesting to keep or show to
somebody. It’s the same with the songs you hope people will make an emotional
connection. I absorb the influences and reshape them,” he says. “The act of

The number 11, often associated with the life path of a person, is of very
special significance for Namito, a genuinely creative person. Those who dive
into the magic creases of the eleven tracks gathered on Eleven
story-telling, handcrafted music as colorful as a hand-woven Persian carpet
quickly find out why this number plays such a significant role in Namitos
life. I always knew that the number was of special importance for me. When I
arrived in Germany, I found out that I was actually born in November, recalls

His dad — with a sharpened bamboo stick he painted only one word: Allah
was a calligrapher so gifted he got appointed by the highest royalties. Namito
takes the eminent artistry running in his family to the next level: In the
early nineties, he, a teenager whod escape the watchful eyes of his uncle in
whose custody the young Iranian grew up after leaving behind his native Tehran,
laid the foundation of what was to become one of the planets most fertile
playgrounds of the electronic music scene

The DJ and producer, one of the Zen masters of the emerging Berlin scene, honed
his skills DJing at the legendary Bagwan disco on Kudamm while living and
breathing music in his commune during the Nineties, and started coming forward
with his own productions after inheriting an entire studio from a Krautrock
legend. One of the many lucky coincidences that make Namitos life story such
an outstanding one. And his music so rich

Eleven has it all: the deepness of late night grooves combined with the
audiophile finesse that makes Namitos productions so tight and crisp. A very
laidback attitude and a lot of knowledge and feeling combined with a lot of
imagination equal a massive ride that never sounds worn out or prefabricated

The opener Zizou is setting the pace a sound search that wakes the spirits
and vitalizes the senses. Shaky bass quakes layered with squirming synths
recall the greatest moments of all times. Sassily fading in: the racy Curse,
a curse indeed for those who were planning to leave the club. Its virtually
impossible

Shimmering like the patina of a city far far below — like a ride on a magic
carpet woven out of trancey pads – is Seven Hours. A long-lasting mind trip
that takes you to higher levels. Train 2 Tehran works on a similar level but
aims much lower, way below the belt. Deep and stomping, this train cannot be
stopped it is like a conquest of a paradise lost and found

Who Knows raises a lot of questions and gives answers in the same moment — a
cathartic release through hair raising bass drums. Seven Lives, produced with
best amigo Martin Eyerer who is also half way responsible for Namitos
ambitious re-birth as one of Germanys most talented producers, and Stephan
Hinz, is one of the most accomplished tracks on the album. Slowly building up,
the utterly compelling groove grips you by the intestines and turns you inside
out while the sparkly synths tickle your sub consciousness before the track
breaks down and creates a funky mayhem. Excellent stuff. The album culminates
in a deep excursion of thoughtfulness, exploring the outer realms of sound
experimentation — the perfect end

After thirteen years of producing electronic music, beams Namito, I can
finally proudly admit that I have found what one could call my trademark
style: As Namito, I sound very underground and clubby with an edge, and I am

There are at least three things weve been able to count on in the reliable
career of Minneapolis-based multi-instrumentalist and Anticon mainstay Martin
Dosh. The first is percussion perhaps because it seems to be his first love and
he teaches kids how to hit the skins by day, he treats almost all of his
instruments as he would a drum, pounding percussive jams out of an
indie-electronic setup. The second one is improvement. With each new record,
Dosh has found better ways of articulating his musical ambitions. Whatever you
think of his eponymous debut and its follow-up, Pure Trashslight recordings for
blurred electric piano and ramshackle hip-hop drummingthey were clearly dry
runs for the music he was about to make. On The Lost Take (2006), he flirted
with pop and trotted out a wonderful cast of now-regular collaborators two
years later on Wolves and Wishes, he doubled the personnel and threw half a
dozen counterpoints into the pot, sending the songs awhirl

Its the sense of personal warmth in Doshs music, however, that carries the
dayno small accomplishment for an artist whos barely sung a note. Hes known
to crossbreed his art with his life in sweetly unexpected ways: proposing
marriage on a Pure Trash track, naming an EP after his young son, striking a
close and unlikely friendship with Andrew Bird and collaborating on tours and
records. But even as these stories have become part of his mythology, the
musics amiable quality is still very underrated. In another heartfelt move
thats likely to go relatively unnoticed, Dosh has titled his fifth full-length
record Tommy, not after the rock opera but his sound engineer Tom Cesario, who
passed away two years ago at the age of 35. The two attended the same high
school and became good friends in the music scene, first in Brooklyn and then in
the Twin Cities, before Dosh hired Cesario to work his tours in 2006. Tom loved
being on the road, fixing things, Dosh wrote in a letter. He loved to tell
stories. He loved food, and knew the coolest restaurants in every city. Its
apparent in the subtly touching writing that they enriched each others lives,
the way it probably is with everyone to whom Dosh is close

Tommy is not explicitly a funereal record, but theres a melancholic air blowing
through it that seems to constantly refer back to Cesarios passing, even when
the musicians are working up a sweat. Dosh puts his best foot forward on all of
his records, and the leadoff track is the requisite stunner, a feast of funk
drumming, keyboard, sax and scat singing that eats syncopation for breakfast
Something about it, though, feels moody, even mournful, like a whooping death
ceremony. After all, its called Subtractions. But Dosh deals in poignancy,
not sadness, and he often suggests absence rather than pulling the pieces out
The loping, full-bodied hip-hop of Airliftto my eyes, another death
referenceencapsulates Tommy in four near-perfect minutes, its reflective groove
riding on a stretcher rotating higher and higher into the sky. All without a
decrease in volume. Loud and intimate, centrifugally swirling and strangely
suspended, Tommy expresses Doshs virtuosity and emotiveness in roughly equal
proportion. Its his most melodic work, and, perhaps to those who take mourning
as the selected fact around which the music constellates, the hardest one to
swallow

Additionally, Andrew Bird has more of a presence on Tommy than hes had on every
Dosh record combined. Not only does he sing on two songs and play violin on
others, his influence is all over the album in a way its never been. Bird gives
Dosh a dollop of indie rock classicism the way that Dosh has helped Bird to
lighten up, and the two make wonderful music, bolstered by the sincerity of
their friendship outside the studio. On Number 41, they turn Uncle Krackers
country/hip-hop hybrid on its head, finding a way for the beat, lap steel, and
honky-tonk piano to combine authentically. Bird assumes the role of country
crooner spinning a metaphoric yarn in the vein of Freakwater: If lifes a race,
you surely won. By comparison, their second effort is more of a bonus
Nevermet has Bird trying to find the progression in Doshs looped composition
with some difficulty, but their good intentions hold the song together. Its the
instrumental Country Road X that channels Bird most of all, and for Dosh, it
represents unprecedented levels of lump-in-the-throat emotionality. Its Tommys
starkest track by miles, and in the moments when the drums drop out to let the
guitar and piano speak softly, its terribly apparent that something significant
has gone

In my experience of listening, the drums have been the most forgettable and
least important aspect of this record, which doesnt mean they arent
impressive. They are, as always, but an inexplicable force prevents me from
paying attention to them and blocks them out of memory. Drums create and
symbolize form, presence. They move things along and materialize order. Tom
Cesario died by falling out of his bed into a position in which he couldnt
breathe. Theres no order in that. Its hard to say whether Tommy is the
incremental improvement we anticipate from Dosh. Certain songs feel superfluous
Loud), and others are overcooked (Call the Kettle, previously on his Powder
Horn CD-R). Even the sound quality isnt as high as its been, which may or may
not be a message to Cesario that he is missed. But Tommy isnt the kind of
record that prioritizes forward momentum. This is Dosh taking a step back,
slowing down, freaking out a little (check the snarling ending of album finale
Gare de Lyon), and making the most personal music of his career. Andrew Bird
put it best: Life isnt a raceyou dont win anything by finishing first. The
axiom is both a beacon for Dosh and a bitterly ironic take on a life that
finished far too soon

Unzip, unrar and install.

Then read CAREFULLY THIS NFO and follow steps in that
order.
Apply x32 patch for 32bits version and x64 for 64
bits

After install, stop diskeeper service.
Copy files from Patch.zip into destination directory.
Run keymaker (under Vista/7, YOU HAVE to right click
and run it as Administrator) and press Generate Key.
Start diskeeper service, press cancel when the
expiring message pops up, run Diskeeper application,
in the menus you will find an option to enter license
key, enter the previously generated key.
Application closes.
Then press Generate Code, go to install folder and
run DKActivationReminder.exe, register now and select
manual registration, copy code into application and
restart.

If you don’t get a “Licenced to AGAiN” info in Program
Bar, you did something wrong. Uninstall, clean all DK
keys in registry and try again.

PLOT SUMMARY
